This new-construction Manhattan duplex was designed on a challenging 16' wide lot. Many building studies were completed in conjunction with a thorough analysis of the city zoning code to best understand how to maximize the benefits of the lot while still proposing an as-of-right building envelope.
Windows, skylights, and stairwells were coordinated to maximize the degree to which light enters each residence, while facade materials were chosen to balance the proportions of the structure.
The upper unit features 3 bedrooms, 3 1/2 bathrooms, and both north and south facing roof-decks.
