Room to Grow
A small addition to a family can come at a disproportionately large cost, yet as families grow, the homes they live in need adaptations in order to continue to facilitate a peaceful and well ordered life.
With careful planning, small but tactical alterations can be made to create completely new spaces within a home. In this instance, a coat closet was reversed and a small wall infilled to create a nursery and future child's room.
To maximize the feeling of the space, only one wall was selected to be embellished. With this wall we made one large design element. Utilitarian items, such as hooks and doorknobs, were seen as opportunities to build off the theme rather than filling the space with decorative objects. This allows the small room to feel airy and spacious while providing a whimsical and joyful environment for a child.
